Entry requirements

Open to any visual artist producing works relating to the borough using any non-digital medium.

Your artwork

The work should be:

• 2D visual media, not including video
• Original work by the submitting artist
• Not already won a prize
• Available for sale at the next RAS Summer Exhibition
• Produced within the last four years
• Artificial Intelligence may not be used in the production of work.

The artist

• Any artist producing works of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames who is 16 or over on the date of submission.
• Acceptable media: any painted or drawn media. Unframed work can be accepted if on a well-presented box canvas.
• You may submit more than one entry. From those, a maximum of three may be selected for the shortlist.
• The combined area of entries will not exceed two square meters per artist.
• Works should not be larger than two meters along the longest dimension.
• Work must have been completed within the last four years and must not previously have been shown at a RAS exhibition.
• Works that are poorly presented or differ significantly from the photograph entered will not be exhibited.

Entry fees

• There is a non-refundable submission fee of £10 per work.
• Fees must be fully paid by the deadline for an entry to be considered. Check the submissions page for dates.

Sales

Winning works may be exhibited for sale at the RAS Summer Exhibition.

• Unless otherwise advised, the Richmond Art Society will charge a commission on the total price paid for works, before, during, or as a result of the exhibition.
• Once work has been submitted, any sale made by the Society before or during the course of the exhibition shall take precedence and supersede one made privately. Any private sale will incur the normal commission.
• The price of works must include the commission. If an artist is registered for VAT, then the VAT due on the selling price of the Works should be included in the price submitted.
• The minimum sale price is £100.
• The price provided can only be changed by prior written agreement between the Richmond Art Prize and the artist of the work. The Richmond Art Prize reserves the right to query the price of works.

Intellectual Property Rights

• All works must be an original creation by the artist.
• The copyright and all other intellectual property rights will remain with the artist. If any rights are owned by a third party, that third party will remain the owner.
• The Richmond Art Prize has the right to reproduce works in connection with the exhibition and the Prize.
