Artist guidelines

These guidelines are intended to help you submit an entry in accordance with the terms of entry.

Subject

The work can be about anything relating to the borough.

Here's a few ideas:

• Your favourite place or view.
• Someone important to the Borough or close to you.
• Some of the Borough's famous wildlife.
• The incredible architecture and buildings.
• That thing you saw the other day.

Get creative, there's so much around you — the artists who came before found no shortage of inspiration.

Media

Use any 2D media of your choice.

Your work can have some depth to it, e.g. collage, relief work, etc, but we are unable to accept sculpture at this time. This may change in the future.

Photos

You may upload up to five photos of your entry. The first image should be of the whole work face-on – this will be the main image viewed by the panel. There are lots of guides online on how to photograph your work.

File formats

• Accepted file types are: WEBP, JPG, and PNG
• Images should not exceed 15 MB each
• There must be at least one image

Supplemental photos

Additional photos can show detail close-ups, texture, or the work in context — anything that helps the judges appreciate the piece.

Price

The minimum sale price is £100, and prices should include the Richmond Art Society commission – see the terms of entry for details.

Entry fee

The submission fee is £10 per work, paid securely by card when you submit. Entries aren't complete until the fee is paid.
